November 2016 + December Goals | Month in Review

I’m probably going to say this at the beginning of every monthly goals post, but… is it December already?? I cannot believe how fast the days have gone by! I haven’t even reached half of my November goals yet! I can’t really say I’m surprised though, because I always set too many goals in the first place and then add some more along the way (like cleaning the entire house) :p And also, admittedly, I’ve been having some wee motivational problems. Probably because I have a lot of free time on my hands now and finding the discipline to do be efficient and productive with that time isn’t always that easy when you have no responsibilities to others but yourself. But it could be that the pressure I sometimes put on myself to be efficient and productive with my time actually demotivates me to do just that…I might’ve just had an epiphany here :p Anywho, let me tell you a little bit about what I’ve been up to and what my goals for this month are!

November in Review

I’ve been…

  • Watching – Narcos season 2, Jane the Virgin season 3, Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 4 (my guilty pleasure), The Walking Dead season 7, Black Mirror season 3 (much better than the other 2 seasons!), Westworld season 1 (great show!), Ash vs. Evil Dead (LOVE!) American Horror Story Season 6 (the first half was cool, not so stoked about the second half) Hunt for the Wilderpeople, all the Harry Potter films, Hotel Transylvania 1 & 2, Zootropolis, Midnight Special, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Snowden, Europa Report, Blood Father, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Moana/Vaiana (and so many more that I forgot to write down :$)
  • Playing – The Witcher 3 and Cards Against Humanity
  • Reading – Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Goals

See 2 films in the cinema – I went to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Moana (or Vaiana as it’s called here)

Try out 2 new recipes – actually we tried out 3 recipes and they will all be added to the recipe book, yay! We made a Beef Stew With Winter Vegetables (Dutch), Pasta With Caramelized Fennel and Spicy Sausage from The Kitchn and Black Bean Brownies (have you read the blog post yet?).

Write down our tried and true recipes – I’m somewhere halfway, but I keep going back an forth on how and in what I want to write the recipes down, to be honest. I want it to look cute and Pinteresty, but I also want it to be functional. Hmm…I’m going to move this goal to the December goals.

Finish reading Harry Potter and The Cursed Child – Guys, I’m so close to finishing it! I’m at the last 100 pages, but I just can’t get myself to read on D: It just doesn’t have the Harry Potter Universe feel to me, the original characters are out of character and feel a little flat (especially Ron!) and the main protagonist (Harry’s son Albus) is a bit of a prat, really. There is one cool character, though: Draco Malfoy’s son Scorpio. What a great kid! I don’t know if I want to finish the book, but I probably will, because I hate not finishing something I started and I’m so close to the ending anyway *sigh*. If I do finish it, it will be for you, Scorpio <3

Get my stuff settled into our home – I did sort out all of my clothes and gifted or donated pieces I didn’t want to keep anymore, but apart from that I didn’t get around to unpacking, because there is basically NO SPACE. So over the next few months, me and hubby are going to see what stuff we want to keep and what we’re donating so I can unpack. It’s not a big priority at the moment though, so we’ll do it in baby steps c:

Practice taking pictures with my Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic – Also didn’t get around to doing this, because I didn’t feel like I had any interesting moments to capture. I will be bringing my camera to Christmas with the family though, so there will be enough opportunity to practice.

December Goals

This month I want to start looking around for jobs and try to be a little more productive and efficient with my time than I was last month. I’m going to do this by trying to get back into a schedule and go to bed and wake up at a set time from monday to friday.

For my goals of this month, I’m keeping some of the same goals as last month and I’m adding a few new ones.

See 2 films in the cinema – Shouldn’t be too hard with a few interesting films coming out, like Rogue One: A Startwars Story, Collateral Beauty and Passengers. It’s just the cold that keeps me from going outside 😛

Try 2 new recipes – I already have some Korean and Indonesian recipes lined up!

Write down our tried and true recipes – I want it to be creative and fun, but also functional…going to get my Pinterest on for this one!

Finish reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – almost…there…

Practice taking pictures with my Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic – can’t wait to snap some Christmas shots of the family c:

Excercise 30 minutes every day – Now that I am in between jobs and it’s (really) cold outside, I don’t go ouside as much and don’t move around as much either and it’s making me feel a little sluggish. So from today on, I’ll try to exercise 30 minutes a day, whether it’s just walking around the block, cycling, or running (I just cracked myself up with that last one). Getting some fresh air and moving my little but will do me good c:

Learn about SEO and Social Media Marketing – Because it’s import to know a little about these things when you have a blog c; Plus, I’m thinking about moving my career in that direction…

Those are my goals for this month, guys! How has November been for you and what goals have you set for December? Let me know in the comments! C; comments
